Signage & Digital

/ CONTEXT /

Interview

This interview reveals a real difficultie to find your bearings for a new comer at the high school Jean Monnet. The signage is often invisible, even nonexistent, on this place of 12 hectares and six school departments. Theses hubs include design, glass, industry, economy, science and hotel trade.

Actual signage

The problem of the local signage results from a lack of graphic codes.

Consequently, the signage is incoherent with a confused identity.

/ ORGANIZE THE SCHOOL SPACE /

Zone system

It was impossible to  divide visually the space in different school hubs because there are placed on top of each other. With a different approach of what we are looking for when we arrive insde the school, I proposed a color system based on entry points. Pink is for school activities, blue for administrative hubs and green for life zone.

/ HIGHLIGHT THE LOCAL EXPERTISES /

Final signage

Works in three steps. First step is the entrance of the school, playing the role of a show case of different school hubs. Then, the new comer arrives at the navigation zone, a place with a map on the ground and glass panels. The quality of transparence of glass enables the superposition of informations over the scenery behind.

Last step is the announced point at the navigation zone.

When we found our bearings, we don't need anymore the signage. What does she become then ? I use the digital technology to give her a second life, making more dynamic the user experience insde the school. See more with the application.
